Lost & Found is the curator and archivist of 123,539 rolls of undiscovered film;
Telling stories to bring back four decades
of surfing, music, adventure and more.
Ten years ago, amongst the dusty boxes of the Pasadena Flea Market, Doug Walker discovered 30,000 forgotten film negatives. And out of that lost piece of history, Lost and Found was born.
Those photographs revealed the nostalgic and carefree spirit of the 1970s surf culture, a transformative era in wave riding history. From that foundation, Lost & Found has since acquired archives of never before seen, monumental sub-cultures that have shaped what we know about music, surfing, adventure, fashion and lifestyle.
Our mission now is to celebrate the tangible and authentic, the pieces of history that aren’t lost on memory cards and obsolete chords. We’ve created a platform to maintain the art and photography of the past while bridging the gap with the present.
